Missouri's Sales Tax-Free Weekend in Branson

Head to Branson during Missouri's Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday for savings on your back-to-school shopping list! 

Missouri's annual Back-to-School State Tax-Free Weekend happens every year on the first full weekend in August. The 2023 tax holiday is slated August 4 - 6. During this three-day period, you can purchase items such as school supplies, clothing and computers without paying the local and state sales tax. Other eligible items include:

  • Footwear, but no accessories such as watches and handbags.
  • Computer accessories and most computer software.
  • Backpacks, art supplies, notebooks, calculators and other similar supplies. 

For a variety of stores and retailers, visit Tanger Outlets in Branson. You're sure to find a bargains at this shopping center, which features 75 brand-name designer outlets such as Nike Factory Store, Old Navy, Talbots, Carter's, Under Armour and many more.

Make your way into Downtown Branson to visit Branson Landing, and shop from specialty stores such as Belk, Bass Pro Shops, Chico's, H&M, Famous Footwear and more. The Landing also has several dining options to keep you fueled as you shop. 

Please note local and county portions of the sales tax are still collected in many areas in Missouri, including Branson. This tax will typically range from 4-6%, depending on the location of the retailer.
